Section 4 · the seven standards

Seven readers who never get tired and never overrule each other by accident.

Each lens asks one question of the frozen text and reports only what it finds. No lens touches a word. Where they disagree, the Canon decides, and the decision is written down with the rule it applied.

Prudence

Is anything here you cannot take back?

Veracity

Is every fact exactly right, and stated no more strongly than the evidence allows?

Architecture

Is it built in the order the reader actually decides in?

Reorder · consolidate · excise · surface

Positioning

Can the reader say yes gracefully, and no without offence?

Convert to door · restage · withdraw · de-pressurise

Purpose

Do the people this is really for appear in the substance, not just the opening?

Detachment

Does it offer, or does it chase?

Subside · steady · release

Stewardship

Does it serve the institution before its author, and leave everyone named their dignity?

Continuity relief · dignify · de-credit · refuse the precedent

Every finding carries one of three severities, and the severity decides what the gate does.

Blocking
GATE SHUT
Release would make the document false, imprudent, or unworthy of the institution. No certificate exists while it stands, and nobody may waive it. Not the owner, not the releaser, not an administrator.
Material
GATE OPENS ON THE RECORD
Fix it, or carry it as a residual risk with written reasons, the duration of the acceptance, and the whole of it reprinted on the face of the certificate. Carried in daylight or not at all.
Minor
GATE OPEN
An improvement. Absorbed in the integrated rewrite if it can be reached, otherwise recorded and released.
Severity is assigned by the lens that raised the finding and may be revised only during reconciliation, with reasons logged. A certificate signed over a Blocking finding is void on its face.
